About this course

If debits and credits still feel like a coin toss, this is where they start to make sense. You begin with the accounting equation and see how every transaction keeps the balance sheet in balance. Next you set up a chart of accounts, write journal entries for purchases, sales, income and expenses, and post them to ledger accounts to find their balances. A trial balance confirms the books add up, and from it you prepare an income statement and a balance sheet. The final lab adds month-end adjustments for depreciation, accruals, prepaid expenses and unearned revenue. Made for complete beginners, small business owners doing their own books and students starting an accounting programme.
