About this course
Once the basics are clear, real bookkeeping is about the recurring tasks that keep the books accurate. This course gives you those tasks one by one. You reconcile a bank statement to the cash book, age receivables and set an allowance for doubtful accounts, and record supplier invoices with purchase discounts. Inventory labs compare FIFO with weighted average and write stock down to net realisable value where needed. You then depreciate assets three ways, straight-line, declining balance and units of production, and book the gain or loss when an asset is sold. The course closes with petty cash and a payroll accrual. Suited to junior bookkeepers, accounting students and office managers who keep a company's ledger.
