Each lab ends with a concrete result that you build yourself and the checker confirms, cell by cell.

• Turn a chart's stitch count and the fabric count into stitches per inch and a finished size in centimetres, including evenweave stitched over two, and check whether each design fits a frame opening.
• Add margins on all sides to get the cut size of each piece, count how many pieces fit into one length of fabric as drawn and turned by 90° with INT, and keep the better layout with MAX.
• Build a size table for several charts on several fabric counts with one mixed-reference formula, work out the minimum count for a target width and pick the right fabric from the available counts with an approximate XLOOKUP.
• Look up the thread used per stitch for the fabric count, turn stitch counts into metres of working thread with a waste allowance, and convert metres into whole skeins depending on how many strands you stitch with.
• Count every symbol on a chart grid with COUNTIFS, count all stitched squares, work out each colour's share of the design and scale one motif up to a band of several repeats.
• Work out the diagonal of each design with SQRT, add the margins to find the hoop diameter needed, choose the next shop size with an approximate XLOOKUP and calculate the frame width for a mat.
• Turn the stitches still to do into hours with each stitcher's speed, into whole weeks at the hours they stitch per week, into a finish date from the plan date, and show the progress of each project as a percentage.
• Add up the skeins of each colour across all stash boxes with SUMIFS, buy only what is missing with MAX, cost the shopping list and chart where the money of a whole project goes.
