ANOVA & Experimental Design in Excel: One-Way, Two-Way & Post-Hoc Tests
Design and analyse experiments in Excel: group means, sums of squares with DEVSQ, the one-way ANOVA table with F.DIST.RT, effect sizes, assumption checks with Levene, Tukey HSD and Bonferroni, randomised blocks and a 2×3 factorial with an interaction plot, in 8 graded labs.

What you'll build
What you will be able to do
Each lab ends with a concrete result that you build yourself and the checker confirms, cell by cell.
- Summarise a four-display experiment with AVERAGEIF, find the grand mean and each group's deviation, and chart the means.
- Split the total variation of pastry sales into a between-display part and a within-display part.
- Complete the ANOVA table for the display trial and decide with F.DIST.RT and F.INV.RT whether the displays differ.
- Measure how much of the variation in pastry sales the display explains, beyond the yes/no of the p-value.
- Check equal variances with a variance ratio and Levene's test, and compute the residuals that should look like random noise.
- Find out which display pairs really differ with Tukey's honestly significant difference and compare it with Bonferroni.
- Test three menu boards in a block design, remove the store-to-store differences and see how blocking sharpens the test.
- Analyse a 2×3 price × placement experiment: cell means, the main effect of the promotion, the interaction F test and an interaction plot.
About this course
Statistics software prints an ANOVA table in a second, but understanding it takes working through it once yourself. You set up a one-factor experiment with group means and the grand mean, split total variation into between- and within-group sums of squares, and complete the ANOVA table with degrees of freedom, mean squares, F and the p-value. Effect sizes follow: eta squared, omega squared and Cohen's f. You check assumptions with a variance ratio, residuals and Levene's test, compare pairs of groups with Tukey HSD and Bonferroni-adjusted t-tests, analyse a randomised block design without replication, and finish with a factorial experiment showing main effects, interaction and an interaction plot. For students and researchers in science, psychology and engineering.

Questions about this course
Is this a subscription?
No. You pay $9.99 once for this course. There is no subscription and nothing renews automatically. Prices are in US dollars; taxes may be added where required.
What exactly do I get?
All lessons and labs of this course, the final exam and the certificate, including later updates to the course, for as long as Tutorvo offers it. Access is personal and tied to your account.
Can I get a refund?
Yes. If you are not satisfied, email hello@tutorvo.com within 14 days of buying and we refund the course in full via Stripe. The guarantee does not apply once a certificate for the course has been issued to you, or where there are signs of abuse.
When can I start?
Right after payment. Access starts immediately at your request; for consumers in the EU/EEA the statutory right of withdrawal therefore ends once access has begun, while our 14-day money-back guarantee applies regardless.
Do I need Excel or other software?
No. The labs run in a spreadsheet inside your browser on a laptop, tablet or phone. Function names and syntax follow Excel.
Is the certificate an official qualification?
No. It confirms that you completed all lessons of the course and passed its final exam. It is not an official, state-recognised or professional qualification. The name is taken from your profile when the certificate is issued.
