About this course
Financial statements become useful once you know which ratios to calculate and what they reveal. In seven labs you read an income statement and balance sheet, then prepare common-size statements and growth rates to see how the business is changing. Profitability is measured with gross, operating and net margins, return on assets and return on equity. Liquidity follows with the current, quick and cash ratios, and leverage with debt ratios and interest coverage. Efficiency ratios turn receivables, inventory and payables into days and combine them into the cash conversion cycle, and a DuPont analysis breaks ROE into margin, turnover and leverage. For business and accounting students, credit analysts, small business owners and investors.
