About this course

Opening a large file just to copy a few rows is slow and error-prone. ADO lets a macro query data directly with SQL instead. This course explains when that approach is better, then builds connection strings with the right provider. You query another workbook without opening it, work through recordsets and write results to a sheet with headers in one step. A lesson extends the same technique to desktop and server databases, and another shows why concatenating user input into SQL is dangerous and how parameters prevent it.
