About this course

When built-in formulas cannot express a calculation neatly, you can write your own worksheet function. This course shows how to do it well. You learn how a Function differs from a Sub and write a first custom function usable in any cell. Arguments, data types and error values make it robust, while optional arguments and ParamArray add flexibility. You return several values at once, understand volatile functions and recalculation, and see why user-defined functions can be slow and what they are not allowed to do.
