What you will be able to do

Each lab ends with a concrete result that you build yourself and the checker confirms, cell by cell.

• Calculate the stocked biomass and density of the six Larchwater Salmon pens and check which pen will be too crowded at harvest.
• Roll the fish count of pen P2 through 12 months of mortality, track cumulative survival and turn it into one equivalent monthly rate.
• Turn monthly sample weights into daily gain and specific growth rate, project the days to harvest weight and chart the growth curve.
• Calculate the biological and economic FCR of every pen, the feed bill and the farm FCR weighted by feed.
• Split the harvest of all six pens into size grades, price each grade and work out the average price per kg and where the revenue comes from.
• Build the cycle cost of the farm item by item and express it per kg HOG and per kg live weight, the number every salmon farmer benchmarks.
• Lay out the quarterly cash flow of one production cycle, find the peak funding need and calculate the break-even price and the margin of safety.
• Rebuild the cost per kg from the drivers, then fill a two-way table of the margin per kg for six FCRs and five survival rates and chart it.
