About this course

Most servers, security tools and cloud workloads run on Linux, and this course gives you the terminal fluency to work with them safely. You practise moving through the filesystem, reading and setting permissions, watching processes, and chaining small tools with pipes before writing your first reusable bash scripts. Later topics include command-line networking, SSH keys and tunnelling, package management, disks and mounts, systemd services and scheduled jobs. You finish by learning how weak permissions, SUID programs, exposed credentials and risky cron jobs let a low-privileged account gain root, and how to spot and fix those mistakes.
