What you'll build
What you will be able to do
Each lab ends with a concrete result that you build yourself and the checker confirms, cell by cell.
- Push four typical line-item changes through net income, cash and total assets at a 25% tax rate.
- Turn a ten-line case into a one-year income statement, cash flow and balance sheet that balances.
- Value Halcyon Foods per share: free cash flow, present value, terminal value, enterprise value to equity value.
- Solve a classic paper LBO: entry, debt paydown, exit equity, MOIC, then compare a rule-of-72 IRR estimate with IRR().
- Calculate pro forma EPS for an all-stock and an all-debt deal and say which one is accretive.
- Turn five peer multiples into a per-share valuation range with the 25th percentile, median and 75th percentile, and cross-check with P/E.
- Build a 3 × 3 table of value per share for WACC and growth with one formula, copied with mixed references.
- Shock four drivers by 10%, measure the EBITDA impact and back your answer with numbers.
About this course
Investment banking, private equity and corporate finance interviews often include a modelling test under time pressure. This course rehearses the typical tasks with instant checking. Numeric drills test how changes flow through the three statements, and a short case asks you to build a quick three-statement model. You then complete a DCF in about fifteen minutes, estimate MOIC and IRR for a paper LBO with mental-maths shortcuts, and run an accretion and dilution test for an acquisition. Trading comparables produce a valuation range, a sensitivity table is built quickly, and a final case asks which driver matters most for the result. For candidates preparing for analyst and associate interviews and for finance students practising speed and accuracy.
