What you'll build
What you will be able to do
Each lab ends with a concrete result that you build yourself and the checker confirms, cell by cell.
- Work out what each Tidyshift plan really earns per customer per month, and what an average customer is worth.
- Build a six-month MRR bridge, roll it forward month by month and turn it into ARR, growth rate and quick ratio.
- Measure how many customers and how much revenue Tidyshift kept in 2027, by segment and in total.
- Calculate what it costs Tidyshift to win a customer, what that customer is worth over their lifetime, and how much churn the model can take.
- Compare five acquisition channels by how many months of gross profit it takes to earn back their CAC.
- Build a driver-based 12-month cash forecast and find the exact month Tidyshift runs out of money if nothing changes.
- Model Tidyshift's seed round: post-money valuation, a new option pool, the share price and how much the founders are diluted.
- Build a scenario switch with INDEX or CHOOSE, then find the break-even number of customers and the profit in each case.
About this course
Founders are expected to know their numbers cold, from margin per customer to the month cash runs out. This course builds that fluency. You start with unit economics, moving from price and cost of goods to contribution. An MRR bridge separates new, expansion and churned revenue into ARR, and you measure logo churn, revenue churn and net revenue retention. Acquisition cost and lifetime value lead to the LTV-to-CAC ratio and payback months by channel. Burn rate and runway pinpoint when money ends, a seed round with an option pool shows dilution on the cap table, and break-even analysis is tested under worst, base and best cases. For founders, early employees and startup-minded students.
