About this course
Smart devices are cheap, fast to market and often insecure, and this course explains exactly why on hardware you own. You begin by breaking a device down into its real parts: the circuit board, the firmware that runs it, the radios it speaks over, and the apps and cloud behind it. You practise recovering and unpacking firmware, build a demo image to hunt for hardcoded passwords and keys, and learn what the UART, JTAG and SPI interfaces expose. You see how BLE characteristics, Zigbee, plain RF and MQTT brokers can leak data, and how local web panels and cloud APIs fail at access control.
